On 7 September ICCROM hosted the meeting of the Evaluation Commission of the 8th edition of the FICLU Competition “Factory in the Landscape”. This contest is open to public and private projects dealing with landscape and the environment, and promotes awareness on the importance of landscape in social well-being, national identity and sustainable development.
Jury members include Prof. Arch. Giovanni Carbonara (La Sapienza, Rome), Arch. Carmen De Luca (ICOMOS, Naples), Prof. Marco Devecchi (Turin University), and Arch. Francesca Riccio (MiBACT, Rome).
They were received by Dr Stefano De Caro, Director-General, and Maria Teresa Jaquinta, Liaison Officer, Italy.

On 7 September, ICCROM hosted the annual donor’s meeting for the World Heritage Leadership Programme with the Norwegian Government.
The World Heritage Leadership programme is a new approach to implement capacity development in support of the World Heritage Convention, based on the long standing partnership of IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources) and ICCROM, also in collaboration with ICOMOS and WHC and other organizations.
This programme has been made possible with the generous support of the Ministry of Climate and Environment of Norway and other partners.

On 13 July a group of six international students from the Diplomacy Project, accompanied by Dr Eleonora Maria Stella of CNR – ICVBC, RM Monterotondo, visited ICCROM. They were welcomed by ICCROM’s Director-General, Dr Stefano De Caro, and received a presentation on ICCROM and a Library tour from Paul Arenson, Manager, Knoweldge and Communication Services.

On 12 July, Prof Vincenzo Scotti of the Università degli Studi Link Campus University, Rome, brought a delegation to visit ICCROM that included Prof Richard Oram, Dean of Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Stirling University, UK, and other colleagues from Italy and Malta.
They were welcomed by the Director-General, Prof Stefano De Caro, and by Paul Arenson, Manager, Knowledge and Communication Services. They also visited the 2017 Summer School in course at ICCROM, guided by Katriina Similä, Project Manager, Collections Unit.

On 21 June, ICCROM hosted a bilateral meeting between Italy and Myanmar and a seminar on “Integrated Conservation of Urban Heritage and Inclusive and Intelligent Cities: possible synergies between Italy and Myanmar, the Yangon Laboratory,” in the presence of the Prime Minister of the Yangon Region, Mr U Phyo Min Thein, and under the auspices of the Associazione ITALIA-BIRMANIA.INSIEME with the participation of the Faculty of Architecture, La Sapienza University of Rome and other guests.
Stefano De Caro, ICCROM’s Director-General, addressed the seminar, attended by Aparna Tandon, Project Manager, Collections Unit; Gamini Wijesurya, Project Manager, Sites Unit; Joseph King, Sites Unit Director; and Maria Teresa Iaquinta, Liaison Officer (Co-operation with Italy).

On 20 June, ICCROM received the visit of Mr Hyunuk Park, Researcher, Bukhansanseong Cultural Business Division, GyeongGi Cultural Foundation and his team working on the conservation of the Bukhansanseong Fortress in Seoul.

On 7 June, ICCROM received the visit of Dr Sharon C Smith, Program Head, Aga Khan Documentation Center at MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology).

On 31 May, the Director-General received the visit of the Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of Hungary, Ms Krisztina Lakos and Orsolya Katalin Szabó, Press Office, Embassy of Hungary.
On 25 and 26 May, ICCROM welcomed the International Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works (IIC) Council meetings, headed by the President of the IIC, Dr Sarah Staniforth.
