ICCROM welcomes Madireng Monyela from South Africa who is undertaking an internship in the ICCROM Archives for a period of two months (3 October – 30 November).
Madireng graduated in Library and Information Sciences (MLIS) from University of Fort Hare, South Africa. She is presently a lecturer at the University of Kwa Zulu Natal (UKZN), where she supervises postgraduate research projects related to organization, preservation and digitalization of indigenous knowledge.
While at ICCROM Madireng will elaborate a digitization project plan for ICCROM’s institutional records held in the Archives to make them available to staff and users.

On 17 March, Minister de Villiers-Steenkamp of the South African Embassy visited ICCROM. She was welcomed by Catherine Antomarchi, Collections Unit Director, Florence Lamy-Joly, EPA Coordinator, Jennifer Copithorne, Communication and Web Officer and Paul Arenson, Manager of the Knowledge and Communication Services.
