ICCROM General Assembly, 2003, Report On Programme Implementation

She especially stressed the form of the report, indicating that it was a form rarely seen even when reading reports of other international organizations at the highest level. It was very well structured, readable and extremely transparent.
Representative of Bosnia-Herzegovina, GA23 Minutes

He congratulated the Director-General for a very transparent report, noting that there are very few organizations, and definitely very few IGOs, who give out so much information in their reports.
Representative of Malta, GA23 Minutes

... a truly amazing document. It was going to be an extremely useful reference in future, and demonstrates to all the value of membership of ICCROM. He indicated that ICCROM represents extraordinary value for money.

AFRICA 2009 Programme

In fact, the AFRICA 2009 Course allowed me to live one of the most positive experiences of my professional life, in terms of the quality of the instruction, the fieldwork, and the human relations.
Senegal

I want to give my compliments on how useful the Africa 2009 website has been for me... Updates on programmes and activities are so prompt and up to date unlike most websites on heritage management which become obsolete soon after advertising one conference. Reports of work done is also current and prompt. Thank you very much for a job being done so well.
Zimbabwe

The survey clearly showed a very high rate of satisfaction with the programme achievements overall as well as for most of the components... Our review confirms the findings of the 2001 review, i.e. that AFRICA 2009 continues to produce tangible outputs and contribute to capacity building in the region.

Course on Sharing Conservation Decisions, 2004

My participation in the ICCROM SCD04 course was one of the most memorable moments in my professional career.
Bulgaria

I gained so much from this experience, I cannot begin to thank all of you that worked so hard to make this happen. I have lectured quite a bit recently and always include examples from the course and explain how very important it is to be connected to our colleagues internationally. I promote what ICCROM does every opportunity I am given.

International courses on conservation of Japanese paper and lacquer

I have to say that without this type of course, those who, like me, have the task of preserving and caring in the best possible way for the Japanese cultural heritage which lies in museums outside Japan would certainly have great difficulty, given the nature and difficulty of caring for such different materials.
Italy

The exceptional quality of the course Japanese Paper Conservation, which you have recently organized, has been reflected in our laboratory.

Course on Preventive Conservation: reducing risks to collections (2005)

I would really like to say that the course content, the teaching modes, teaching team, logistic and people involved in the course formed a harmonic structure, which will leave a deep trace in my professional and personal life.
Slovenia

Attending this course and visiting Rome for three weeks has been a life-changing experience for me. Words can never express my gratitude. My life has truly been enriched.

International Course on Integrated Territorial and Urban Conservation (ITUC)

Two years ago I worked on a project on the Local Economical Development topic through the conservation of historical urban areas. The whole program was a sort of continuation to ITUC ’99. Ever since I have meant to send you the material to show you how much participating in the ITUC has helped me.

ICCROM Newsletter

I look forward to receiving the Newsletter and always enjoy reading it. I am very impressed with the way the newsletter has evolved since I was Chair of Council. The most recent issue, with the articles on disaster recovery and risk assessment, was one of the best in recent times. Keep up the good work.
Charles Gruchy, former Chair of Council, Canada

It is really encouraging and exciting to see the difficult issues being tackled by the Newsletter in such an open and searching way... It’s a breath of fresh air, it seems to me, through the corridors of the heritage discourse which can be so musty and stale!

Library services

As I reported to you in Rome, the three staff editors of AATA Online are extremely pleased with the quality and volume of abstracts being produced ... in the last 10 months, over 1,200 abstracts of valuable publications in ICCROM’s library have been added to the Database.
Senior Manager, AATA Online, USA

I wanted to comment on the high quality of abstracts prepared at ICCROM on the current package I am returning. They are extremely well written and comprehensive!

Response to requests from Member States

All this to say that my trip to ICCROM provided me with an entirely new perspective on the work underway here in Canada. The opportunity to discuss our approach with you and with others from around the world was invaluable. I really can’t thank you enough for enabling this to happen.
Canada

We are using this opportunity to express our gratitude for the publications we received, as well as for the constant support that ICCROM is providing to our institution and through us to the whole Scientific Community of conservators from Romania.
Romania

I would like to express our thanks for your immediate response to our request for providing us useful printed material... Your help is really important...
