Aim
The course aims at promoting sustainable heritage by improving the capacity of those working and living with Southeast Asian collections. Participants will be encouraged to take the lead in designing and implementing educational activities on an institutional, national and international level with a special focus on community engagement. The course will examine the specificity of the Southeast Asian cultural contexts and learning and teaching traditions for devising effective training and collaborative activities. Practical sessions will include methodological tools preparation and practising training sessions and presentation skills.
Methodology
The workshop consisting of interactive, participatory sessions, both theoretical and practical and study visits, will take place in Bangkok and Phrae, Thailand.
Participants
Twenty two heritage professionals working to conserve Southeast Asian heritage collections. At least three years of working experience will be required. Applications from those actively involved in the organization or delivery of training activities and/or community projects will be especially encouraged.
Course Team
Conservation and heritage education specialists from the networks of the organizing institutions.
Working language: English.
Scholarship
Scholarships covering round-trip travel, accommodation and meals in Bangkok and Phrae during the course will be available.
