On 21 April, ICCROM hosted a meeting in preparation for a colloquium on the history and evolution of the concept of hospitality, its significance in the Mediterranean region, the
economic implications and material traces in the safeguard of the intangible heritage.
It was held under the chairmanship of Professor Francesco Scoppola,
Director of the Commissione Regionale per i Beni e Attività Culturali
delle Marche and attended by representatives from Italian cultural institutions.
The discussion focused on the theme of hospitality in its many different expressions. It also enhanced collaboration between ICCROM and scientific institutions
and universities in the field of intangible cultural heritage.
