Fellow: Blaz Seme

 

 

New Fellow at ICCROM

ICCROM is pleased to announce the arrival of Dr Blaz Seme, conservator- restorer, on a one-month Honorary Fellowship at ICCROM from April to May 2006.

The topic of the his research is 'The Problem of Decay of Exterior Wall Paintings on Monuments: Comparative Study of Mediaeval Painted Churches of Bucovina (Moldavia, Romania) and Slovenia'.

Dr Seme will be studying the preservation and deterioration issues of external/outdoor wall paintings as part of wider comparative research work sponsored by New Europe College (NEC) in Bucharest. The aim of the research is to study methods of determining the degree of deterioration of historic wall paintings in the open air, the topic of his recently completed PhD thesis.

He is also a member of ICOMOS Slovenia and a 2006 Fellow of the New Europe College, Bucharest.
