Jim Black has been awarded the UK Royal Warrant Holders Association 2006 Plowden Medal.
The medal is awarded annually to the individual in the UK who has made the most significant recent contribution to the advancement of the conservation profession. He received the medal
from David Brewer, Lord Mayor of the City of London.
Jim Black has a long-standing collaboration with ICCROM, having lectured on several ICCROM courses and participated in the Preventive Conservation in Museum Course (1981) and the Mural Paintings Conservation Course (1982).
