ICOMOS CIF Working Conference on 'Training and Education in Crafts for Conservation'

25 October. The ICOMOS International Training Committee (ICOMOS CIF) sponsored a working conference on 'Training and Education in Crafts for Conservation' from 19 – 21 October 2007 in Pisa, Italy. 

The conference was held under the patronage of ICCROM, along with the region of Tuscany, the Province of Pisa, the Municipality of Pisa, the University of Pisa, and the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Pisa. 

Approximately forty professionals from fifteen countries attended the conference which included presentations on the state of the art in training for craftsmen in various parts of the world.  A visit was also made to the town of Vicopisano to look at works underway at the site of the Borgo Murato. 

ICOMOS CIF held a business meeting in conjunction with the conference to discuss revisions to its statutes and future activities of the committee.
