Towards a long-term programme for the conservation of the cultural heritage in Latin America
16 May. From 18 - 21 April, ICCROM and IILA (Istituto Italo Latino Americano) organized an expert meeting to define a long-term programme for the conservation of the cultural heritage of Latin America. The meeting was made possible with the generous support of The Getty Foundation, together with a contribution from the Directorate General for Italian Cooperation.
The aim of the meeting was to gather information, identify needs and priorities, and develop possible lines of action towards the creation of a long-term capacity building programme for Latin America.
Twenty-four cultural heritage professionals from seventeen countries were invited to participate to this meeting. The final report of this event is now available on this website. A long-term programme will be submitted for approval to the ICCROM General Assembly in November 2007.
