30 August. In response to a request by the UNESCO Office of Iraq in Jordan ICCROM contributed, within the framework of its ATHAR Programme, to training sessions of twelve Iraqi professionals on communication skills and presentation of archaeological sites to the public. The course was held in Amman on 28 - 31 July 2007.

This initiative was a UNESCO and JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) for Iraqi authorities for the institutional support of cultural institutions.

Ms Katriina Simila, Project Manager, Sites Unit, represented ICCROM and taught at this event together with ATHAR Programme’s expert Mr A. El- Habashi.
