Regional course on archaeological conservation for Southeast Europe: Diagnosis and conservation
1 – 26 October 2007
8 October. The fourth regional course on archaeological conservation for Southeast Europe began its second week at the Butrint National Park, in Albania.
This second week is devoted to condition assessment of ruined structures and decorative elements.
The course is combining a series of lectures which emphasize methodological aspects and examples from various archaeological sites around the world with practical activities on case studies.
The case-studies for practical exercises at the Butrint National Park have been chosen to reflect the variety of elements found at the site, while also keeping in mind the needs of a large-scale site.
At the end of the week, a trip to sites in the vicinity of Butrint will provide an overall view of the conservation and management requirements of this unique area.
Member States represented: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Georgia and Serbia
