Screen heritage is becoming a key phrase in the discussion about the preservation, dissemination and understanding of moving image history, particularly in the UK. The British Film Institute has announced a Strategy for UK Screen Heritage, with a strategy document published and an invitation for comments. A seminar on screen heritage will take place on 22 September 2007 at Roehampton University.

UNESCO/ICOM Museum Studies Training Package
The package and training programme, aiming at improving or enhancing the knowledge and competencies of museum personnel in developping countries, were prepared jointly by UNESCO and ICOM. The Russian version of these publications is presently under preparation.
World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO)
WIPO: Guide on Managing Intellectual Property For Museums
Museums, and the broader cultural heritage community, now have access to a new guide to help them use the intellectual property (IP) system to improve the management of their collections in the digital environment. The "WIPO Guide on Managing Intellectual Property for Museums" recognizes the important role that IP plays in providing access to collections, and in preserving and managing the valuable works they contain. A printed version of the Guide will be available shortly.
Maney Publishing launches new online Archaeology and Heritage Collection for 2008
Maney Publishing has the largest single publisher’s list of archaeology journals and is building on this specialism with the introduction of the MORE (Maney Online Research E-journals) Archaeology and Heritage Collection in 2008.
This E-journal collection will allow university and college archaeology departments, consultancies, architecture practices, heritage workers, and archaeological societies to access journal content online that is highly specific to their subject area.
Preserving digital heritage, Library of Congress, USA
Several of the partners in the Library's National Digital Information Infrastructure and Preservation program addressed attendees at the American Library Association's Annual Meeting during the convention in Washington (25 June 2007). The partners described the types of at-risk digital content they are collecting and the hurdles they face and have overcome in their collaborative initiatives.

In October 2006, the Heritage Emergency National Task Force launched a “Lessons Applied” initiative designed to help Task Force members develop and implement projects to address the major issues that Katrina and other major storms brought to light. The goal was to convert analysis to action. Over the past several months, panels composed of Task Force members have developed new tools to aid libraries, archives, museums, historic sites, and historic preservation and arts organizations in disaster preparedness and recovery.
