12 January. Dr Alberto Martorell Carreño has arrived at ICCROM to take up a two-month Fellowship from January to February 2007.

Dr Martorell holds a first degree in law and a Masters in protected natural areas.  He has also carried out doctoral studies in cultural rights and the law. 

His studies at ICCROM will focus on advancing the understanding of the category of 'heritage channels' or 'heritage routes' (such as, the 'spice route', the 'pilgrimage routes of Santiago de Compostela', and the 'mountain railways of India')
