Rome, Italy
30 July. On 25 July, the Director-General of ICCROM visited the International Development Law Organization (IDLO) in Rome, and met with H.E. Ambassador Ugo Leone, Italian Diplomatic Councillor at IDLO, and colleagues.
They discussed areas of partnership and collaboration, noting that legislation for the protection of cultural heritage was an important priority in many countries around the world. |

Santander, Spain
16 July. On 16 July, the Director-General of ICCROM participated in the summer course on cultural heritage under the chairmanship of Prof José María Ballester former Director of Cultural Heritage of the Council of Europe, Acting President of the Banco de Santander Foundation. |

12 July. On 12 July, the Director-General of ICCROM participated in the first conference on Mediterranean traditional architecture, organized by the College of Architecture, University of Barcelona, Spain. The event was held under the chairmanship of Prof Xavier Casanovas within the RehabiMed Programme. |

9 July. On 9 July, the Director-General of ICCROM participated in a meeting on the situation of cultural heritage in Kosovo at the Swedish Cultural Centre in Paris. The meeting was held under the Chairmanship of H.E. Ambassador Adhal. |

Lübeck, Germany
2 July. The Director-General of ICCROM participated in an international conference entitled 'UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Europe - A Network for Cultural Dialogue and Cultural Tourism' which took place in Lübeck, Germany from 13 to 14 June 2007. Over 280 participants from thirty countries and all continents discussed joint strategies and sustainable uses for shared heritage in order to preserve it for future generations. |
