2 November. On 30 October, the Director-General of ICCROM was received by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Culture of Italy, Mr Giuseppe Proietti. Discussions focussed on the Italian contribution towards the new premises of ICCROM and points to be discussed at the General Assembly of ICCROM (7 and 9 November 2007).

2 November. On 29 October, the Director-General of ICCROM was received by the Director of the Istituto Centrale del Restauro (ICR), Caterina Bon Valsassina, in the presence of ICCROM Council Member, Alessandro Bianchi. They discussed items for future institutional collaboration.

2 October. On 18 October, the Director-General of ICCROM participated in the 'Third International Meeting on 'Science and Cultural Heritage in the Mediterranean Area. Diagnostics and conservation: experiences and proposals for a risk map' (pdf 283 Kb). The meeting was held from 18 - 21 October in Palermo, Italy.

Invitees included directors from cultural heritage organizations, and professionals in charge of research, conservation, and laboratories. The aim was to discuss and share experiences on scientific research as applied to heritage conservation in the Mediterranean.

The Director-General of ICCROM gave an opening speech on 'Cooperation of international organizations in the conservation of cultural heritage'.
