16 February. ICCROM Director-General, Mounir Bouchenaki, attended in Benin the opening ceremony of EPA programme ‘Museums at the Service of Development’, and a workshop on  'Relations between Schools and Museums’. He also participated in a meeting of the EPA Administrative Council, on which the Director-General of ICCROM sits as Vice-President.

During his stay in Benin, the Director-General, met with Antonin Dossou, Director of the Office of the Minister of Development, Economy and Finances. They discussed issues concerning the conservation and management of cultural heritage in Benin. Alain Godonou, Director of EPA (former PREMA participant) and Gaël de Guichen (former Assistant to the Director of ICCROM) were also present at the meeting.

He also met Koichiro Matsuura, Director-General of UNESCO, who was in Benin for the National Forum for Education.
