ICCROM participates in a meeting on the promotion of quality of life, human exchange and culture in Italy
12 March. On 26 February, the Director General, Mounir Bouchenaki, attended a
meeting of the Committee on the Promotion of the Quality of Life, Human
Exchanges and Culture at the Chamber of Deputies in Rome. The committee has been established by the Euro-
Mediterranean Parliamentarian Assembly (EMPA).
He presented a paper on 'The contents and progress of the UNESCO
Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of
Cultural Expressions, adopted in Paris on 20 October, 2005'.
The Committee discussed the role of culture in promoting development and
mutual understanding, as well as a proposal to establish a Euro-
Mediterranean University.
