Istituto Italo-Latino Americano

19 March. On 9 March 2007, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between ICCROM and the Istituto Italo-Latino Americano (IILA). 

IILA is an intergovernmental institution, based in Rome, and comprises twenty-one Latin American countries as Member States. IILA has the objective of enhancing socio-economic devolopment, research, and cultural initiatives including cultural heritage conservation and management, in Latin America.

The MoU on collaborative action between the two parties was signed by Ambassador Paolo Bruni, Secretary General of IILA, and Mr Mounir Bouchenaki, Director General of ICCROM. The signing ceremony was also attended by Simonetta Cavalieri Nannerini, Direttore Generale, Segreteria Culturale, Eugenia Fedeli, Capo Servizio Cooperazione and Giulia Giacobetti.

This first joint initiative is a meeting, generously supported by the Getty Foundation, to be held in Rome that will bring together eighteen experts from fourteen Latin American countries to discuss the general conservation needs in the region.
