13 March. On 9 March, the Director General, Mounir Bouchenaki, attended the inauguration of the exhibition 'Felix Ravenna. The cross, the sword, the sail: the high Adriatic Sea Region in the fifth and sixth centuries' in the presence of Elsa Signorino and Sergio Fioravanti, respectively President and Director of the RavennAntica Foundation. Alberto Cassani, Council Member for Culture at the Ravenna Municipality, Luigi Malnati, Superintendent for Archaeological Heritage of the Emilia-Romagna Region, and Gianni Fabbri, Vice President of the Fondazione del Monte di Bologna e Ravenna were also present.

The exhibition, organized by RavennAntica and the Municipality of Ravenna, is being held in the complex of Saint Nicolò and will remain open from 9 March to 7 October 2007.

The Director General also had the opportunity to visit the archaeological excavations of Classe and the future Museum of Classe and to discuss collaboration between ICCROM and the RavennAntica Foundation.

The foundation expressed an interest in contributing to the development of a regional strategy for the conservation of mosaics in the Mediterranean region currently under consideration by ICCROM and the Getty Conservation Institute.
