8 May. On 4-5 May, the Director General, Mounir Bouchenaki, attended the international conference on 'The UNESCO Historic Centre of Naples: responsibilities in confrontation', organized by the Italian Institute of Philosophical Studies (IISF), the Italian Institute of Historical Studies (IISS), the UNESCO Historic Centre Committee, and the Old City Committee.

The meeting, chaired by Prof Gerardo Marotta, President of the IISF, was held in Naples, at the Palazzo Serra di Cassano. Francesco Bandarin, Director of the UNESCO World Heritage Centre (WHC), and Dinu Bumbaru, Secretary General of ICOMOS, attended the meeting. Ray Bondin, Member of ICCROM Council, attended as President of the ICOMOS International Scientific Committee of Historic Towns.
