8 November. The General Assembly presented the 2007 ICCROM Award to Prof Katsuhiko Masuda. The ICCROM Award is given in recognition of special merit in the field of conservation, protection and restoration of cultural heritage and for making an important contribution to the development of ICCROM.

In the absence of Prof Masuda, the Award was received on his behalf by Mr Satoshi Yamato and the Laudatio was read by Mrs Gabriela Krist. Prof Masuda has a long association with ICCROM, firstly as a participant on the ICCROM Mural Paintings Course, and latterly as a key figure in the establishment and success of ICCROM courses on Japanese paper conservation.
