Jagath Weerasinghe

 

 

Fellow at ICCROM

5 March. Jagath Weerasinghe, from Sri Lanka, will undertake a two-month fellowship at ICCROM during March and April.

Jagath is a Professor at the Postgraduate Institute of Archaeology (PGIAR), University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka and was an ICCROM participant of the 1985 Conservation of Mural Paintings Course (MPC85).

At present he is the course coordinator of the conservation programme of the PGIAR and also has been the local coordinator of the AAHM Field School held in Sri Lanka last year.

During his stay at ICCROM he will work on 're-examination of the concept of authenticity in relation to living heritage of South Asia'.
