| CollAsia 2010: Kingdom of Cambodia funds training
17 June. ICCROM is pleased to announce that the Kingdom of Cambodia has provided funds towards the planning and preparation of training activities to take place at Angkor.
The training will be organised within the framework of CollAsia 2010 programme, and will focus on the relationship of collections and historic sites which is a particularly significant issue at Angkor today.
The training activities in the Kingdom of Cambodia will bring together heritage professionals working with collections to build their knowledge and skills regarding the management of collections of objects relocated - at some point in the past - from their original location (site, monument) to a location such as a depot, museum or other dedicated storage facility. It will aim to prove awareness of key issues and to create and develop networks within the ASEAN region so as to reinforce future activities in the region.
ICCROM is grateful to the Kingdom of Cambodia and the APSARA National Authority for this concrete demonstration of its commitment to the professional development of the heritage sector in Southeast Asia.
