International Course on the Conservation of Built Heritage (CBH09)
27 February – 30 April 2009

2 March. ICCROM is pleased to announce that on 27 February, the second course on Conservation of Built Heritage began in Rome.

This eight-week course serves a wide range of conservation practitioners and decision makers by placing technical issues within the broader conservation context and linking them to planning and management concerns.

The first part of the course will overview the current practices of defining heritage, the evolution of different concepts and key approaches currently used in built heritage conservation. The second part of the course will focus on planning and management issues affecting the conservation decision-making process. The third part of the course will focus more closely on technical issues such as documentation, condition assessment and treatment as well as interpretation and public access.

Twenty participants of various backgrounds (architects, archaeologists, engineers, planners etc.) from twenty countries are participating in the course. Further information regarding this course will be posted online and updated regularly.
