ARIS09: Architectural Records, Inventories and Information Systems for Conservation

27 August. The international course on architectural conservation, heritage recording, and information management begins early next month.
The course objective is to improve conservation decisions through better information. Subjects will include data management, hand recording, photography, photogrammetry, GPS, laser scanner, databases, inventories, GIS, and how to incorporate these methods and technologies into the conservation process.
The course will be held at ICCROM and will feature seventeen participants from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, China, Côte d'Ivoire, Cyprus, Denmark, Egypt, Greece, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Oman, Palestine, Peru, Philippines, Slovenia and The Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia.
This course is co-sponsored with the collaboration of the Getty Conservation Institute, Los Angeles, California.
