ICCROM hosts ICOM-CC
23 October. From 21 to 24 October 2009 ICCROM is hosting the combined meeting of the ICOM-CC Directory Board and Working Group Co-ordinators.
ICOM-CC is the largest of the International Committees of ICOM (International Council of Museums), having over 1800 members worldwide from every branch of the museum and conservation profession. ICOM-CC aims to promote the investigation, analysis and conservation of culturally and historically significant works and to further the goals of the conservation profession.
ICOM-CC is currently built up of 21 specialist Working Groups, which actively communicate with their members through newsletters, meetings and at a Triennial Conference, bringing the membership of ICOM-CC together to report and to review current research.
The collaboration and interaction between ICCROM and ICOM-CC date to the very beginnings of the Committee’s start-up in the 1960s. The Director-General of ICCROM serves ex-officio as a member of the ICOM-CC Directory Board, and the ICOM-CC Secretariat is hosted on the ICCROM premises.
