Call for nominations: Paul Banks and Carolyn Harris Preservation Award
This award was established to honor the memory of Paul Banks and Carolyn Harris, early leaders in library preservation. The award, a $1,500 grant donated by Preservation Technologies, L.P., and a citation, will be given to recognize the contribution of a professional preservation specialist who has been active in the field of preservation and/or conservation for library and/or archival materials.

Sites inscribed on the World Heritage List – the Palace of Versailles in France, the historic centre of Prague in the Czech Republic and the old town of Cáceres in Spain, for example – can now be explored online, thanks to an alliance signed by UNESCO and the international corporation Google.

Launched in 2005, the database now contains more than 2,000 laws from over 170 countries in 42 languages. All UNESCO Member States are invited to submit their national cultural heritage laws for inclusion in this online database.
