1 July. Catalina Bateman Vargas, from Colombia, is undertaking a two-month internship, from June to August 2009.

Catalina was trained as a conservator at the Universidad Externado de Colombia, and she received her Master's Degree in Archaeology from the Universidad de Los Andes.

She has mostly been working with archaeological heritage, as a consultant for the Colombian Institute of Anthropology and History (ICANH), for which she has developed conservation proposals for two archaeological parks. She also recently co-founded an NGO (Proyecto Patrimonio), aimed at developing conservation projects at the regional level.

While at ICCROM, she will be working activities for the LATAM programme.
