2 December. On 23 October, the Director-General was invited to participate as keynote speaker to the conference on World Heritage and Cultural Diversity: Challenges for University Education. The event was co-organized by the German Commission for UNESCO, and the conference patrons are the UNESCO Word Heritage Centre and the Federal Ministry for Foreign Affairs Germany.

2 December. On 22 October, the Director-General was invited by Mrs Elsa Signorino, President and Mr Sergio Fioravanti, Director, Ravenna Antica Foundation to participate in the Convegno Internazionale-Conservazione e Restauro del Mosaico Antico e Contemporaneo, Ravenna, Italy.
