| ICCROM Welcomes Dr Stavroula Golfomitsou
25 September. ICCROM is pleased to welcome Dr Stavroula Golfomitsou who has been seconded by the government of Greece as Laboratory coordinator.
Dr Golfomitsou holds a PhD from University College London with specialization on corrosion inhibition of copper and copper alloys. She comes from the Directorate of Conservation of Ancient and Modern Monuments of the Greek Ministry of Culture.
Dr Golfomitsou has vast teaching experience in various countries such as Egypt, Greece, Malta, and Peru. As head of the Stone, Metals, Ceramics and Glass Department, Institute for Conservation and Restoration Studies, Malta, she has lectured at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. She has also taught metals conservation
at the University of Malta (BSc in Conservation Science) and at the Conservation of Antiquities and Works of Art Department, Technological Educational Institute, Athens, Greece.
She has
participated in the EU project PROMET on protection of metals in the Mediterranean basin. She also has carried out research in Turkey and France.
