2009 ICCROM Award: Marisa Laurenzi Tabasso and Nils Marstein

30 November. The General Assembly presented the 2009 ICCROM Award to Marisa Laurenzi Tabasso and Nils Marstein. The ICCROM Award is given in recognition of special merit in the field of conservation, protection and restoration of cultural heritage and for making an important contribution to the development of ICCROM.

The Laudatio for Marisa Tabasso, read by Stefan Simon, praised her influence on conservation science as a lecturer, researcher; and Head of the Programme of Science and Technology as well as Assistant to the then Director-General of ICCROM.

Joe King read the Laudatio for Nils Marstein and recognized his contribution to ICCROM through the wood course in Norway, his support for PREMA and AFRICA 2009 and his position as Council Member and Delegate from Norway at the General Assembly for many years.
