Presentation of 'Conserving Textiles: studies in honour of Ágnes Timár-Balázsy'

1 December. On 23 November, the Hungarian Academy in Rome kindly hosted the presentation of the 7th ICCROM Conservation Studies publication 'Conserving Textiles: studies in honour of Ágnes Timár-Balázsy'. The event was inaugurated by Mrs Eva Vigh, Deputy Director of the Hungarian Academy.

The volume consists of series of essays posthumously honouring Ágnes Timár-Balázsy who dedicated her life to chemistry and conservation as a teacher, writer and researcher. It was originally published in Hungarian by Pulszky Hungarian Museums Association (HMA) in 2004.

The event was organized during the 76th Council Meeting in Rome to honour Ágnes Timár who had been a Council Member from 1994 to 2001. Many of her former colleagues and Council Members were present to remember and celebrate Ágnes, including Dinah Eastop, senior textile conservator, United Kingdom; Tamás Fejerdy, National Office of Cultural Heritage, Hungary; and her husband, Dr Gyorgy Timar.

The book is priced at 35 euros and can be purchased from the online bookshop.
