Edmund P. Pillsbury 1943 - 2010
29 March. Edmund P. Pillsbury, Director of the Kimbell Art Museum in Fort Worth from 1980 to 1998 and a major figure on the American art museum scene, died on 25 March, aged 66.
Mr Pillsbury was the first chairman of the Hermitage Museum International Advisory Board in St. Petersburg, Russia, founded in 1994 under the aegis of UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization). Pillsbury also led the first UNESCO mission to the Hermitage in 1992 facilitating a nearly twenty year collaboration between the Hermitage and UNESCO, and a revitalized international presence for the Hermitage Museum.
