Staff departure

8 December. On 7 December, a reception was held to say farewell to two members of the ICCROM Library staff: Margaret Ohanessian and Christine Georgeff.

Margaret Ohanessian joined ICCROM in 1977 at the moment of transition between Paul Philippot and Bernard Feilden. Moving to the Library in 1978, she carried out long-term database work as part of the Library team, updating the Library database with catalogue references for books and journal articles, tracking purchases in the Acquisitions database, and maintaining the consultable mission reports, the UNESCO Documents collection and the Dossiers Institutionnels.

Christine Georgeff joined ICCROM as a staff member in 2002, under the directorship of Nicholas Stanley-Price. A former PREMA consultant in the 1990s, and subsequently the creator of the in-house CDS-ISIS library database, she has maintained the Library database and the periodical collections and subscriptions, along with managing the requests for Technical Assistance service to Member States. She has also been instrumental in the current conversion project to transfer the Library database to a new updated platform using Koha- MARC 21.

Both colleagues were also well known to our Library users for the friendly assistance they gave while staffing the Library Reading Room.

ICCROM staff and friends will miss these cherished colleagues.
