ICCROM Welcomes Jennifer Copithorne
10 May. Following the international vacancy announcement disseminated last summer, ICCROM has appointed a new staff member, Ms Jennifer Copithorne from Canada, as Communications and Web Officer.
Ms Copithorne brings to the position nearly a decade of experience in cultural heritage. She has an MA in Cultural Heritage Studies from the Institute of Archaeology, University College London, United Kingdom, and a BA in Archaeology from the University of Calgary, Canada.
Having previously participated in archaeological fieldwork in Canada, the Caribbean, and Italy, Ms Copithorne was first engaged by ICCROM as a consultant in 2004 to assist in the coordination of the 2005 Forum on ‘Armed conflict and conservation: promoting cultural heritage in post-war recovery’, which resulted in the publication of the event’s proceedings as part of the ICCROM Conservation Studies series. She has also worked on World Heritage projects for the Sites Unit, and helped organize the pilot course on the Conservation of Built Heritage (CBH) in 2007. More recently, Ms Copithorne has been involved in ICCROM’s web communications and is responsible for launching its social media initiatives on Facebook and Twitter. Since 2009, she has assisted in the coordination of ICCROM publications.
As Communication and Web Officer, her responsibilities will include content management for both web and paper-based communications and the coordination of ICCROM publications.
