Course on Cultural Heritage Protection in the Asia – Pacific Region: research, analysis and preservation of archaeological sites and remains

10 October. The course on Cultural Heritage Protection in the Asia-Pacific Region: research, analysis and preservation of archaeological sites and remains, concluded on 4 October at the Cultural Heritage Protection Cooperation Office, Asia-Pacific Cultural Center for UNESCO (ACCU Nara Office) in Japan.

Sixteen professionals from countries in the Asia-Pacific region participated in the course, which provided knowledge and skills on the following themes:

  • principles and methodologies for protecting archaeological sites;
  • principles, methodologies and techniques concerning management and use of archaeological sites;
  • recording techniques and analytical methods for archaeological sites.

The course also provided participants with an opportunity to establish a network of colleagues from the region and share experiences.
