23 April. Dr. Safaa A. Abd El Salam from Egypt is undertaking a fellowship at ICCROM until the end of May.

Dr. Safaa A. Abd El Salam holds a degree in the Mural Painting Section of the Department of Painting, Faculty of Fine Arts, at the University of Alexandria. She also has PhD in conservation technology from the School of Archaeological Studies at the University of Leicester. She was previously a fellow at the “DEMOKRITOS” Laboratory of Archaeometry, Institute of Materials Science, National Centre for Scientific Research, Greece. Currently, she is a Professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Alexandria.

While at ICCROM, she will be researching the characterization of ancient materials.
