On 9 June, a delegation of Chinese professionals visited ICCROM to discuss issues related to a proposed World Heritage regional training centre to be located in China. It comprised: Mr Xueling Yi, Secretary General of Suzhou Gardens and Landscaping Administration Bureau, Director-General of World Heritage Office; Mr Zhen Zou, Deputy Director-General World Heritage Office; Mr Kuang Shi, Principle Planning of Suzhou Industry Park; Mr Zhu Jiangang, Third Secretary Education Office, Chinese Embassy in Italy. The group met with Joseph King, Sites Unit Director, Guo Xuan, ICCROM Fellow, Baba Keita, Project Specialist, AFRICA 2009, and Ernesto Boreli, Laboratory Coordinator. The group discussed needs in training for the Asia-Pacific region as well as logistical issues connected with starting a regional training centre. The group also visited the ICCROM Library and Laboratory and learned more about ICCROM's structure and programmes.

On 8 June, a group of undergraduate students from three Universities (Trinity College, Hartford CT; Wesleyan University, Middletown CT; and the
University of Pennsylvania) visited ICCROM. After a presentation about ICCROM and its current activities the group was taken on a tour of the library and the laboratory.
