On 23 September, a group of eighteen students from Göteborg University, Sweden visited ICCROM, accompanied by Professor Ola Wetterberg, Head of the Department of Conservation. The students are enrolled in a four-year ‘Conservation of Cultural Property’ programme. Following presentations on ICCROM activities by Zaki Aslan, Project Manager of ATHAR Programme, the group was given a tour of the library.

On 11 September, Mr Talal Akasheh, Dean of Queen Rania's Institute of Tourism and Heritage, Hashemite University, Jordan, and President of the World Association for the protection of Tangible and Intangible Cultural
Heritage in times of armed conflict (WATCH); Mr Claudio Cimino, Secretary General, WATCH; and Mr Damiano Adelfio, Responsible, WATCH Office in Rome, visited ICCROM. They met with the Director-General, Mounir Bouchenaki and Zaki Aslan, ATHAR Programme Manager to discuss the upcoming international conference on Science and Technology in Archaeology and Conservation to be held in Rome in December 2008.
