New Director-General of UNESCO elected
15 October. The Director-General of ICCROM, Mr Mounir Bouchenaki, and his staff would like to congratulate Mrs Irina Gueorguieva Bokova for her election by an overwhelming majority as 10th Director-General of UNESCO. As an institution created by UNESCO, ICCROM looks forward to further enhancing the historical ties with UNESCO aimed at preserving our cultural heritage worldwide. |

Floods in South Asia
8 October. In the aftermath of the recent devastating floods in Bhutan, Southern India and Nepal, the Director-General and Staff of ICCROM extend their deepest condolences to the government and people of these South Asian States which have been so disastrously affected by the loss of lives and the destruction of property. ICCROM wishes to assure its friends and colleagues of this region that it remains ready to provide assistance to those responsible for protecting cultural heritage.
