28 December. On 19 November 2009, the 7th and last technical course of Africa 2009 drew to a close at Grand-Bassam, Côte d’Ivoire.

18 December. The four-week international course on Safeguarding Sound and Image Collections concluded at the National Museum Institute, New Delhi, India. 

17 December. A regional workshop on 'Assessment of Vulnerability of World Cultural and Natural Heritage Properties to Disasters and Climate Change' took place in Beijing, China. 

17 December. The three-week course on 'Preventive conservation: reducing risks to cultural heritage' concluded in Quito.

7 December. A workshop on networking amongst professional conservation institutions in the Arab region took place in Sharjah.

7 December. A public lecture was given by Mr John Stubbs on his recent publication: 'Time honored: A Global View of Architectural Conservation'.

3 December. ICCROM is pleased to announce the publication of Museum International 243: Celebrating Excellence, a joint issue with ICCROM in commemoration of the 50th anniversary. It is available in English, French and Chinese.

3 December. Ms Belinda Ramnauth, Senior Librarian of the Carnegie Library of Mauritius, is now at ICCROM until mid-December as a fellow.

2 December. It is with great sorrow that ICCROM has learned of the death of Ikuo Hirayama, aged 79.

30 November. The first week of SOIMA 2009: Safeguarding Sound and Image Collections concluded on 21 November in New Delhi.

30 November. The General Assembly presented the 2009 ICCROM Award to Marisa Laurenzi Tabasso and Nils Marstein.

28 November. The 26th General Assembly elected thirteen new members to serve on ICCROM’s Council for the period 2009 - 2013.

25 November. The XXVIth General Assembly of ICCROM opened today in Rome. The event is being held at the headquarters of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).

24 November. ICCROM is pleased to announce the publication of ICCROM Newsletter 35 in commemoration of its 50th anniversary. It is available in English, French, Spanish and Arabic. The electronic versions are also available online.

20 November. Organized within the framework of the Collections Programme of ICCROM, SOIMA 2009 focuses on ensuring long term preservation of sound and image collections, including films, photographs, audio and video records.

18 November. It is with great sorrow that ICCROM has learned of the death of a long-time friend, Istvan Éri of Hungary, at the age of 80 years.

14 November. On 4 December (11am), John H. Stubbs, Vice President for Field Projects, World Monuments Fund, New York, will be presenting his book 'Time Honored: A Global View of Architectural Conservation'.

11 November. It is with great shock and sadness that the international conservation community has received the news of the death of Toby Raphael on 4 November at his home in Shepherdstown, West Virginia, United States.
