New Member State
22 January. ICCROM is pleased to announce the adhesion of the United Arab
Emirates as a new Member State as of 22 January 2010. The adhesion of the
UAE brings the number of ICCROM Member States to 128. |

ATHAR course on documentation of heritage sites in the Arab Region concludes
21 January. Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Ruler of Sharjah, the ATHAR course concluded on 14 January 2010 at the American University of Sharjah. |

New Member State
14 January. ICCROM is pleased to announce the adhesion of Mauritania as a new Member State as of 29 November 2009. The adhesion of Mauritania brings the number of Member States of ICCROM to 127. |

Earthquake in Haiti
13 January. In the aftermath of the strong earthquake that struck Haiti
late afternoon yesterday, the Director-General and Staff of ICCROM extend their deepest condolences to the government and people of this country who
have been disastrously affected by the loss of lives and the destruction
of property. ICCROM is ready to offer assistance to our Haitian colleagues
and those institutions responsible for protecting the cultural heritage
within the affected areas.
