11 June. The 14th International Course on Wood Conservation Technology (ICWCT10) is currently being held in Oslo, Norway, at the Norwegian Directorate for Cultural Heritage (Riksantikvaren).

1 June. ICCROM is pleased to announce that Mr Raymond Bondin, former Council Member of ICCROM, has been nominated Ambassador and Permanent Delegate of Malta to UNESCO.

17 May. On 18 May, International Museum Day: Museums for social harmony is being celebrated all over the world. The event provides an opportunity for museum professionals to meet the public and alert them to the challenges that museums face if they are to be - as in the ICOM definition of museums - 'an institution in the service of society and of its development'.

13 May. The ATHAR-MOSAIKON course on Conservation and Management of Mosaics on Archaeological Sites has begun with a workshop at the World Heritage Site of Tyre.
