Russian Fed flag Wildfires in the Russian Federation

13 August. In view of the continued raging wildfires in the Russian Federation which have claimed lives and severely impacted the natural and cultural heritage of that nation, the Director-General and Staff of ICCROM extend their deepest condolences to the Russian government and people.

Floods in Pakistan

1 August. In the wake of heavy rains causing floods in Pakistan, bringing about tragic loss of lives, extensive damage to property, and rising levels of the Indus River that threaten the World Heritage site of Mohenjodaro, the Director-General and Staff of ICCROM extend their deepest condolences to the government and people of Pakistan.

30 July. Fallo Baba Keita, former Manager of the AFRICA 2009 Programme at ICCROM, officially took up his new duties as Director of the Ecole du Patrimoine Africain (EPA) in a ceremony held on 28 July 2010 in Porto Novo, Benin.

In the aftermath of the strong tropical storm that has struck El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras, the Director-General and Staff of ICCROM extend their deepest condolences to the government and people of these countries who have been disastrously affected by the loss of lives and the destruction of property. ICCROM is ready to offer assistance to our Central American colleagues and those institutions responsible for protecting the cultural heritage within the affected areas.
