26 April. ICCROM is pleased to announce the adhesion of Qatar as a new Member State as of 26 April 2012. The adhesion of Qatar brings the number of ICCROM Member States to 132. |

Newsletter of the Friends of the Non-Catholic Cemetery in Rome
23 April. The Spring 2012 edition of the Friends of the Non-Catholic Cemetery in Rome Newsletter is now out. Featured in this issue is an article about the International Course on Stone Conservation, organized by ICCROM and the Getty Conservation Institute last year. During the course, the Cemetery was used as a case study and six tombs were restored by the participants. |

Council Bureau meeting and visit to new headquarters
23 April. On 16 April the ICCROM Council Bureau convened in Rome for a two-day meeting to discuss the organization’s ongoing activities, as well as the Programme and Budget. During the meeting and at the request of Grellan Rourke, Chairperson of the Council, a visit was organized to the former Convent of San Francesco a Ripa. |

First Lady of Azerbaijan and President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, contributes to the EPA Fund
11 April. ICCROM is pleased to announce that the First Lady of Azerbaijan has made a generous contribution of € 50,000 to the EPA Fund through the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, of which she is the President. The amount raised for the fund has now reached 2,484,204 €. |

New Member State
11 April. ICCROM is pleased to announce the adhesion of the Republic of Latvia as a new Member State as of 31 March 2012. The adhesion of the Republic of Latvia brings the number of ICCROM Member States to 131. |

Activities of the Director-General
4 April. In March the Director General met with Member State Ambassadors, including H.E. Rouben Karapetian, Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia. The Director General also had the opportunity to meet with representatives of several ICCROM partner institutions. |

New Intern at ICCROM
4 April. Samuel Gendre from Switzerland will be interning at ICCROM until the end of June. During his internship, he will be working with the Sites Unit on issues related to World Heritage. |

International Training Course on Disaster Risk Management of Cultural Heritage (ITC 2012), Japan
31 March. The Cultural Heritage and Risk Management programme of the Research Center for Disaster Mitigation of Urban Heritage, Ritsumeikan University (Rits-DMUCH) is pleased to announce its 7th International Training Course on Disaster Risk Management of Cultural Heritage. It will be held in Kyoto, Kobe, and Tohoku, Japan from 8 to 22 September 2012. |

Brainstorm on Conservation Science
29 March. From 12 to 13 March, ICCROM held a Brainstorm on the current state and future of conservation science. In anticipation of the ICCROM Forum 2013, the purpose of the Brainstorm was to undertake a preliminary exploration of key issues in conservation science today, scope trends, and identify where evidence could be collected which would aid analysis of these trends. |

Martos Project 2012 - International Workshop on Stone Conservation and Urban regeneration in Spain
28 March. Diadrasis is pleased to announce its second international workshop on Stone Conservation and Urban regeneration for young professionals. The workshop is organized with the consent of the Junta de Andalucía, under the patronage of ICCROM and in collaboration with the University of York, the City of Martos Council Department of Culture, the Asociación para el Desarrollo Rural de la Sierra Sur de Jaén (ADSUR), and the Instituto Cultural de España (IPCE). It will take place from 20 August to 30 September 2012 in Martos, Andalusia, Spain. |
