ICCROM Forum ICCROM Forum on Science In Conservation

28 February. From 16-18 October 2013, 60 professionals from different disciplines and contexts within the heritage field will meet in Rome to consider relevant questions and future directions for science in cultural heritage conservation. This event is organized by a consortium of 16 organizations which have joined with ICCROM to carry this project forward.

Kakadu National Park Koongarra protected from uranium mining within Kakadu National Park, Australia

28 February. On 14 February, Australia's Governor General formally included the Koongarra area within Kakadu National Park, thanks to the persistence of two clans and to the decision of the World Heritage Committee.

LATAM publication Losses in Mali

1 February. While the extent of the overall damage has not yet been assessed, it is clear that a number of buildings, tombs, and ancient manuscripts have been damaged or destroyed by rebels at the World Heritage properties of Timbuktu and the Tomb of Askia in Gao. ICCROM, together with our international partners, stands ready to assist national institutions in Mali entrusted with conserving heritage.
