Re-org logo Collections Documentation and Storage Reorganization for Smaller Museums

Did you know that 60% of museum collections in storage are at serious risk? In response to this, ICCROM and UNESCO have developed a step-by-step methodology to assist small museums in reorganizing their storage and documentation systems.

RE-ORG is a new online tool developed by ICCROM and UNESCO to help museums identify key problems with storage areas and documentation systems. By following the step-by-step approach, users can make meaningful improvements to restore the potential for access and use of collections.

Developed through a collaboration between museum professionals from 15 countries on five continents, RE-ORG targets small museums of under 10,000 objects with reduced access to resources or outside expertise.

RE-ORG is the end result of a three-year partnership between ICCROM and UNESCO, Preventive Conservation of Endangered Museum Collections in developing countries.

Log on today and create your own RE-ORG account enabling you to track your progress, and gain instant access to all the assessment tools, guidelines, didactic materials and photos.

An online discussion group has been created to facilitate interactions between members of the RE-ORG community.
