Following a preliminary meeting with representatives of the Getty Conservation Institute, ICCROM and the GCI are in the process of developing a capacity building strategy for the conservation of mosaics in the Mediterranean region.

It is foreseen that the International Committee for the Conservation of Mosaics (ICCM) will also be a partner in development and implementation of the strategy.

The strategy will build on work that the GCI has already undertaken for a number of years in Tunisia, and will be closely linked to ICCROM’s ATHĀR programme.
