Research and networking: economic issues
The heritage field, in recent years, has begun to appreciate the need for better understanding economic issues as they relate to conservation — the positive role that heritage can play in the development process by bringing economic benefits to individuals and communities. ICCROM is proposing a new research project, to be managed by the ASK-Bocconi Centre, part of the Bocconi University in Milan, to look at the role that heritage can plan in the development process. The project will outline key issues as well as profiling best practices that could be used as a reference for national and international policies. ICCROM will contribute to the programme through staff participation in the research and training carried out as part of the activities.
