Contributing to strategic directions

1. Enhancing the capacity of national cultural heritage institutions in Member States to achieve their goals

  • At least eighty professionals from cultural heritage institutions in Southeast Asia participate are involved in programme activities as participants and resource people
  • At least five institutions in Southeast Asia are involved in co-organizing and hosting CollAsia 2010 activities

2. Encouraging risk preparedness, preventive conservation, and maintenance strategies in Member States

  • At least three activities (two international courses and one field project) systematically integrate and address the issues of preventive conservation, risk preparedness and maintenance strategies
  • At least five web-based items on risk preparedness and/or preventive conservation are disseminated through the CollAsia 2010 website

3. Promoting integrated approaches to conservation of cultural heritage

  • Participants and resource people in CollAsia 2010 activities come from at least five different professional areas of specializations and are involved in the conservation of various types of heritage
  • In all CollAsia 2010 activities, the core theme will be discussed from the point of view of different professional and cultural contexts

4. Increasing access to information about conservation, for professionals and wider audiences

  • All CollAsia 2010 activities will focus on knowledge building and dissemination
  • All communication training modules will discuss how to address wider publics
  • At least ten web-based items are disseminated through the CollAsia 2010 website
  • Each activity will generate at least three web-based items (teaching and learning materials, bibliographies and glossaries of terminology). These will be accessible in English and in at least two Southeast Asian languages
